|Tabberone's Travel Guide|
Started August, 2011
This Travel Guide is our opinion of places we have visited coupled with our opinion of things in general. For example, since we do not smoke,
like 80% of the rest of the American population, we often comment on smoking when others may not mention it. We also do not pretend to know the difference
between wine that comes from a bottle with a cork and wine that comes from a bottle with a screw-off cap. It tastes the same to us. We personally like the wine
that comes in a box with a handy pour spout.
We do not go somewhere in order to comment on the place. So the places listed are in no particular order and the the only reason we went there was because we wanted to go there, or because we got a free room or free meal as some sort of comp from a casino, etc. Did we mention that we are cheap?
Black Hawk and Central City, Colorado |
Black Hawk and Central City are old mining towns in Colorado where limited gambling is permited. Slot machines, Keno, and table games. Gaming is permitted 24/7 with a $100 table limit and limited service hours on free beverages for players. After we went there a few times, Karen began getting offers for free rooms from the Ameristar Casino and the Isle Casino, which prompted us to go to Black Hawk and Central City more frequently. It is about a 1½ hour drive west from Denver and about a 2½ hour drive for us so being able to spend the night makes the drive less stressful.
Cripple Creek, Colorado |
Cripple Creek is another old mining town in Colorado where limited gambling is permited. Slot machines, Keno, and table games. Gaming is permitted 24/7 with a $100 table limit and limited service hours on free beverages for players. It is about a 1 hour drive west from Colorado Springs.
Las Vegas, Nevada |
Do you start to see a pattern here? We do not go to Las Vegas nearly as much since Colorado went smoke-free in the non-Indian casinos and increased the table and gaming limits. .
Washington DC Area |
Our Nation's Capitol.
