Email Pictures We Have Received

Periodically we get emails with attached pictures from service members and support personnel overseas. We do not solicit pictures or gifts. We only ask the deployed members to let us know if the packages arrived safely and to give us a cut-off date for mailing.

In the interests of security we do not post any recent pictures of deployed military. We usually wait a year or so before sharing. And we generally post small excerpts from the emails.

On May 26, 2009, Major Angela Redmond sent us five pictures of her and her unit. She was an Education Coordinator and we got her information from CH (MAJ) Thomas B. Vaughn, Jr, Senior Hospital Chaplain of the 115th Combat Support Hospital in Afghanistan. The women service members often get overlooked by support groups.

On September 9, 2010, SFC Eduardo Carranza sent us a picture of him on a mission.

September 30 2011, Matthew Lau sent us a photo-op image that was staged for a CNN broadcast. "Just makes you proud to be an American huh?!"

November 8, 2011, CW3 Rob R Gibson sent us a picture of a warning sign displayed in the base toilets, one of the "dangers of living in a war torn country".

July 1, 2012, CPL David P Pangan emailed us a picture of him, ready-to-roll. His "father is a Vietnam Veteran".

August 11, 2013, civilian Edward J Drohan sent us a picture of (we think) of him and two staff. He was with CJTF Paladin, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. "CJTF Paladin is a multinational, theater-wide task force that is responsible for coalition counter-improvised explosive device operations in Afghanistan."

More recently, a picture from Zack of him and his section at Bagram.
