Ribbon Heaven and Tabby Wabby Added August 7, 2011 |
Last Updated August 7, 2011
From time to time people email us about a site that we simply cannot ignore. Ribbon Heaven and its sister web site, Tabby Wabby,
join the Tabberone Trademark & Copyright Abusers' Hall Of Shame in a rare twin induction.
Granted, many induction indicators can, and are, opinionated based. And, since it is our Hall of Shame, we set the threshold, at whatever level we wish, but we do have standards, regardless of what some inductees may think. We really do. Ribbon Heaven and its sister web site, Tabby Wabby, have managed to exceed these standards. Surprise! First. Any web site that uses some company like, say, a registry hiding company that hides, say, who you really, really are, like Domains by Proxy, Inc, out of Scottsdale, Arizona, this company, we feel, has a lot, a whole lot of something to hide, dude, like , dude, maybe, dude, from maybe from you, it's customer, dude? Does not a reputable business conduct business in a reputable business manner? This usually means telling the buying public who you are, where you are located, and who you are. Ribbon Heaven, at http://ribbonheaven.com/ and its sister web site, Tabby Wabby, at www.tabbywabby.com, appear to do neither of these. That makes us suspicious. Since Ribbon Heaven and Tabby Wabby have the same contact telephone numbers and fax numbers, well, they must be operated by the same suspicious people. "Phone Office PST: 562-277-8256 *Fax: 562-404-7927". These numbers are in California. These telephone numbers are located in Long Beach, California. Tabby Wabby has a post office box in Cerritos, California, which is a short distance from Long Beach. So why the mystery? Are the owners escaped felons? Illegal aliens? Democrats? Alas, we may never know. |
What started all of this are the use restrictions by Ribbon Heaven concerning the resale of ribbon bought on its site. |
Animal Print Mouseheads on Shocking Pink 10 yds 7/8" - $3.75 |
Alright class, what is wrong with this picture? You, there, in the second row. Correct! Two things. First, this is a blatant rip-off of a trademark by Disney
of their Mouse Ears, and second, those phony use restrictions are not legally binding upon a purchaser unless they are in writing BEFORE the item is
purchased.
The primary clue that this ribbon is counterfeit is that there is NO mention that the mouse ears are a licensed trademark of Disney Enterprises. If Ribbon Heaven were licensed to manufacture trademarked or copyrighted images, the licensing agreement would require statements to that effect as well as more detailed pictures, especially pictures with mandated © and ® plainly visible. If the ribbon were licensed ribbon being resold, the quality would be much better than that shown. Therefore, it is obviously counterfeit and Ribbon Heaven had to know it was counterfeit when it bought it or counterfeited it in the back room. |
*Please note these prices are for end craft use and not for BULK resale unless on your own web site " if you own your web site you may buy rolls for resale". NO EBAY/ETSY sales by the yard with out permission from RibbonHeaven owner. You may resell any craft made item such as Hairbows, Ribbon Tees & tag pant, ext….with our designs and feel free to join our yahoo group "RibbonHeaven" and join our chats and contest. Look for our TabbyTemplates @ only $19.99 per set "limit 1 per member at this price" with all Instruction updates at NO EXTRA charge. We do also offer group buys for custom dots, scrolls & custom designs all our own custom work you wont find else where. |
Gag us with a spoon. Only $19.99 to join WHAT? What a rip-off. These resale conditions are not legally enforceable. They are a joke. A bad joke by a web site selling counterfeit ribbon. Really bad counterfeit ribbon. |
And Ribbon Heaven just loves to sell counterfeit Mouse Ears only Ribbon Heaven calls them "Mouseheads". But they are still counterfeits. And see the "Peace Mouse Ears" below. |
Holiday Mouseheads | St Paddy's Mouseheads | Candy Cane Mouseheads | Easter Mouseheads |
And Ribbon Heaven has a clever front page that has a variety of flash pages of artwork. Most of which, we suspect, is lifted from other sources, besides Disney and Dr Seuss. It appears Ribbon Heaven is also counterfeiting Grinch ribbon as well as they were advertising it. Click on the small pictures below to get a full view of the artwork we think belongs to others. If Ribbon Heaven is marketing ribbons with these designs we were unable to locate them as of the posting of this page, other than the Disney and the Grinch ribbons. We are assuming the artwork below was at one time being sold on the web site. Even if it was not, it is being used to attract traffic and it is very doubtful that this art is original to Ribbon Heaven and Tabby Wabby or that they have permission to use it. |
Boys and girls, we suggest that you do not use either of these companies. You see, if you buy counterfeit ribbon and then use it, you could find yourself in trouble. Why do you suppose Ribbon Heaven and Tabby Wabby do not want you selling items and the ribbon on eBay/Etsy? Because if you get caught then you will rat them out and then they are out of business for counterfeiting. And they could end up in really big trouble. And they do not want that. |
