Erté Extravaganza Hotel to Open in Las Vegas.   | |
Greenwich, CT - Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts, the parent company of Martin Lawrence Galleries, and Sevenarts Limited of London have announced their collaboration on a spectacular new project, the development of an Erté-themed hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Billed as "The Most Elegant and Romantic Hotel Casino on Earth," the "Erté Extravaganza" complex has been three years in planning and is moving into the initial stages of development. D3V Entertainment Ventures of Las Vegas has been named as the developer and operating company.

As befits the opulent Las Vegas atmosphere, the Extravaganza will be lavish, glamorous, and incorporate a sensational theme. The concept is an Art Deco hotel/casino inspired by the life and work of Erté, the Father of Art Deco. Its external facade will feature a black and gold color scheme, and huge replicas of some of Erté's most famous artwork. A monumental sculpture of "Lovers and Idol" will be backed by an immense tower, reminiscent of the Art Deco Chrysler building in New York City, which will feature imagery based on a design for a 1927 revue of the Folies Bergere, (later was released as a serigraph called "Les Pretresses"). Designs for the inside décor and furnishings, such as hotel furniture, bed linens, and carpets, are also based on the vast repertoire of Erté's artwork and theater design. The casino and hotel will feature all the amenities that today's discerning business travelers and pleasure-seekers demand, plus first class dining and entertainment choices.
This is the first Las Vegas hotel & casino to be based on the work of one artist. Erté, truly a legend even in his own time, was the defining force in the Art Deco movement, which is an eternal favorite for art lovers and collectors. Its architectural interpretations are perfectly suited to the Las Vegas of today, where the prevailing mood is more upscale than in years gone by. # # # For further information please contact us.
